First Nations Leader, BCL Candidate Wanda Good joins Mike de Jong
BURNABY – Wanda Good, a First Nations leader and the 2017 BC Liberal Candidate in the Stikine riding is the newest member of Team de Jong endorsing Mike de Jong to be the next leader of the BC Liberal Party.
“Mike de Jong is the right person to rebuild our party and lead our province. And he’s ready to start the first day on the job,” Good said. “Mike’s track record and experience make it clear he is the right person to hold the NDP accountable and to make sure our province remains strong.”
Good was the BC Liberal candidate in Stikine in the 2017 election, and is the former Gitanyow deputy chief councilor.
“I’m supporting Mike because he knows the North. He knows our communities. His connections, especially from his time as as Minister of Forests and Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, reach far, they stretch wide, and they go deep. That’s the kind of leader we need., reach far, they stretch wide, and they go deep. That’s the kind of leader we need,” Good added. “Mike understands and is connected to the North and every other part of this province – and he’s passionate about making life better for everyone, no matter what part of BC they call home. That why we need to make sure he becomes our next leader and B.C.’s next Premier.

The BC Liberal party will hold a leadership convention to announce the new leader on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018.
