1. Who We Are

MikeDeJong.com is a public-facing brand owned and operated by High Peaks Refuge LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. In this Privacy Policy, “High Peaks Refuge,” “MikeDeJong.com,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to High Peaks Refuge LLC and the services it provides under the MikeDeJong.com brand.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you:

  • Visit MikeDeJong.com or another website or landing page we operate;
  • Download a book, guide, or other resource;
  • Join The Briefing or another communication list;
  • Register for or attend a workshop, event, webinar, or training;
  • Purchase consulting, educational, digital, or event-related services;
  • Book an appointment;
  • Communicate with us by email, telephone, SMS, form, social media, or another channel;
  • Connect a payment card or bank account through Stripe; or
  • Interact with services, forms, automations, or communications supported by RainmakerAI.

By using our websites or submitting information to us, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Name;
  • Email address;
  • Business or mobile telephone number;
  • Mailing or billing address;
  • Company name, title, and business information;
  • Workshop, event, webinar, or program registration information;
  • Appointment and scheduling information;
  • Survey responses, preferences, testimonials, and feedback;
  • Messages, inquiries, and customer-support communications;
  • Purchase and transaction details;
  • Information submitted through forms, checkouts, questionnaires, applications, or assessments; and
  • Any other information you choose to provide.

2.2 Payment and Transaction Information

Payments may be processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor.

Stripe may collect and process:

  • Payment-card details;
  • Bank-account and routing information;
  • Billing information;
  • Transaction history;
  • Account-ownership information;
  • Device and fraud-prevention signals; and
  • Other information necessary to authorize, process, settle, refund, or dispute a transaction.

High Peaks Refuge LLC does not intend to receive or store complete payment-card numbers, card verification values, online banking usernames, online banking passwords, or bank-account authentication credentials. Payment and bank information entered through Stripe is collected and processed within Stripe’s systems.

Stripe maintains its own privacy, security, and data-retention practices. Stripe states that its infrastructure encrypts sensitive data in transit and at rest.

2.3 Connected Bank-Account Information

When you voluntarily connect a financial account through Stripe Financial Connections, Stripe may provide us with information you authorize for the disclosed purpose. Depending on the service selected and permissions granted, this may include:

  • Account-holder or account-ownership information;
  • Bank name and account type;
  • Masked account identifiers;
  • Account and routing information used for ACH payments;
  • Current or available balances;
  • Transaction information; and
  • Information used for fraud prevention, payment verification, or eligibility assessment.

We will use connected-account information only for purposes disclosed at the time of connection, such as:

  • Processing or verifying an ACH payment;
  • Confirming account ownership;
  • Preventing fraud or transaction errors;
  • Evaluating eligibility for an installment or deferred-payment arrangement, where offered;
  • Servicing an authorized payment arrangement; or
  • Meeting legal, accounting, recordkeeping, or dispute-resolution obligations.

We will not use connected-bank-account data for unrelated advertising, and we will not sell it.

A user may be able to disconnect a linked account through Stripe’s interface. Disconnecting an account does not necessarily require deletion of information that must be retained for completed transactions, disputes, fraud prevention, contractual duties, or legal recordkeeping. Stripe Financial Connections operates through user-authorized access to financial data and provides mechanisms for revoking access.

2.4 Email and RainmakerAI Information

When you submit a form, download a resource, register for an event, or communicate with us, information may be transferred to or processed through RainmakerAI.

Depending on our configuration, RainmakerAI may process:

  • Name and contact information;
  • Form submissions;
  • Consent records;
  • Source, campaign, or referral information;
  • Email-delivery, open, and click activity;
  • SMS delivery and interaction information;
  • Tags, preferences, and audience segments;
  • Appointment, event, and purchase activity;
  • Automation history; and
  • Communications between you and our business.

We use this information to deliver requested resources, operate our communications, provide customer support, personalize relevant content, maintain consent and opt-out records, and improve our services.

2.5 SMS and Telephone Information

When you provide a telephone number, we may collect:

  • The telephone number;
  • The date, time, source, and method of consent;
  • The wording presented when consent was provided;
  • Message-delivery and interaction records;
  • HELP and STOP requests;
  • Appointment or event information associated with the number; and
  • Records necessary to administer or demonstrate consent.

Providing a telephone number does not automatically enroll you in promotional SMS communications. Promotional SMS consent must be provided through a clear disclosure and an affirmative action, such as checking an unchecked box, submitting a dedicated SMS form, texting a disclosed keyword, or signing a compliant paper form.

Consent to receive promotional texts is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.

2.6 Website and Device Information

We and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address;
  • Browser and device type;
  • Operating system;
  • Referring and exit pages;
  • Pages viewed and links clicked;
  • Date, time, and duration of visits;
  • Approximate location derived from IP address;
  • Cookie, advertising, or analytics identifiers;
  • Form and conversion activity;
  • Video-viewing activity; and
  • Information used to detect abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

3. Cookies, Pixels, Analytics, and Embedded Services

We may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies.

Our websites may use the following services:

3.1 Google Analytics

Google Analytics may collect information about website visits, traffic sources, devices, and user activity to help us understand and improve website performance.

3.2 Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager may be used to manage analytics, advertising, and other website tags. Tag Manager itself may facilitate the operation of other technologies configured through it.

3.3 Meta Pixel

The Meta Pixel may measure visits, conversions, and advertising performance and may help us create or reach advertising audiences on Meta platforms.

3.4 LinkedIn Insight Tag

The LinkedIn Insight Tag may measure campaign activity, website conversions, and professional audience characteristics and may support retargeting or advertising through LinkedIn.

3.5 YouTube

Pages containing embedded YouTube videos may allow YouTube or Google to collect device, cookie, playback, and interaction information. Where technically practical, privacy-enhanced embedding should be used.

3.6 Stripe

Stripe may use cookies, device identifiers, scripts, and related technologies for payment processing, account linking, authentication, fraud prevention, security, and service operation.

3.7 RainmakerAI

RainmakerAI may use tracking technologies to operate forms, email and SMS automations, personalization, attribution, lead management, and engagement reporting.

3.8 reCAPTCHA

We do not currently use Google reCAPTCHA. If we implement it in the future to protect forms from spam or abuse, it may collect device and interaction information to determine whether a submission is made by a person or an automated system, and this policy will be updated accordingly.

3.9 Scheduling Services

When a scheduling service such as Calendly is embedded or linked, that service may collect appointment, device, and interaction information under its own privacy terms.

3.10 Cookie Controls

Where required by applicable law, nonessential analytics and advertising technologies should not be activated until the visitor makes an applicable cookie choice.

Visitors may also restrict cookies through browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect website functionality.

A separate Cookie Policy provides additional details.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our websites;
  • Provide requested books, guides, resources, and downloads;
  • Process event and workshop registrations;
  • Deliver training, consulting, education, and customer support;
  • Schedule and manage appointments;
  • Process payments, ACH transfers, deposits, refunds, and disputes;
  • Verify payment methods and financial-account ownership;
  • Detect fraud, abuse, spam, security threats, and transaction errors;
  • Communicate about purchases, registrations, appointments, accounts, and requested services;
  • Send email or SMS marketing where permitted;
  • Personalize content and communications based on interests or activity;
  • Measure website, campaign, email, and advertising performance;
  • Maintain consent, suppression, and unsubscribe records;
  • Enforce our agreements and protect legal rights;
  • Comply with tax, accounting, reporting, court, regulatory, or legal obligations; and
  • Complete a merger, financing, restructuring, acquisition, asset sale, or similar business transaction.

5. Email Communications

We may send transactional emails concerning downloads, purchases, registrations, appointments, or services.

We may also send commercial or educational emails, including The Briefing, where permitted by law.

Commercial email recipients may unsubscribe through the link included in an email or by contacting us. We will not charge a fee or require unnecessary information to process an email opt-out.

The CAN-SPAM Act requires accurate sender information and subject lines, identification and address requirements where applicable, and a functioning opt-out mechanism for commercial email.

6. SMS Communications

When you separately consent to SMS communications, High Peaks Refuge LLC may send messages from (229) 458-7321 or another number we clearly identify in the future.

Messages may include:

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders;
  • Event or workshop information;
  • Registration updates;
  • Purchase, payment, or account notices;
  • Customer-support messages;
  • Requested educational content;
  • Follow-up communications; and
  • Occasional promotional offers.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance.

Opt-out requests will be honored as promptly as reasonably practicable. We may send a final confirmation message acknowledging an opt-out. After an opt-out, we may still communicate by SMS where legally permitted for an emergency, security matter, or a new communication separately initiated or requested by the user.

We do not use purchased, rented, scraped, or brokered telephone-number lists for SMS campaigns. SMS contacts must come from direct interactions with our business, such as a website form, landing page, event registration, webinar registration, QR code, paper form, checkout, scheduling form, or disclosed text-to-join keyword.

Because automated business messaging over a ten-digit number is treated as A2P traffic by U.S. carriers, the sending number and messaging campaign should be registered through the applicable provider and A2P 10DLC system before automated traffic begins.

7. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing

We may use artificial intelligence, workflow automation, or automated decision-support tools to:

  • Draft or personalize communications;
  • Classify or route inquiries;
  • Recommend educational resources;
  • Summarize information;
  • Assist customer service;
  • Segment communications based on interests or activity;
  • Identify potentially fraudulent or abusive activity; and
  • Improve website and business operations.

AI-assisted output may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is intended to support, not replace, appropriate human judgment.

We do not intend to use AI to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning employment, housing, credit, insurance, healthcare, or access to essential services.

We will not authorize an AI service provider to use connected-bank-account information for unrelated model training or advertising.

8. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

8.1 Service Providers

Providers that assist with:

  • Website hosting and development;
  • Email and SMS delivery;
  • RainmakerAI services;
  • Payment processing and Stripe Financial Connections;
  • Scheduling;
  • Cloud storage;
  • Analytics and advertising;
  • Video hosting;
  • Fraud prevention;
  • Security;
  • Accounting;
  • Legal services; and
  • Customer support.

Service providers are permitted to use information only as needed to provide services to us, meet legal requirements, or protect their systems and rights.

8.2 Legal and Safety Purposes

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • Enforce agreements;
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
  • Protect our rights, users, employees, property, or the public; or
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

8.3 Business Transactions

Information may be transferred as part of an actual or proposed merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction. Any recipient will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations.

8.4 At Your Direction

We may disclose information when you direct or authorize us to do so.

9. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money.

Some state laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly enough to include certain uses of advertising cookies, pixels, or identifiers. To the extent applicable law treats our use of Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google advertising services, or similar technology as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, eligible users may request to opt out through our cookie controls or by contacting us.

We do not sell or share connected-bank-account information for behavioral advertising.

10. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and whether the applicable law covers our business or processing activity, you may have rights to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information;
  • Access personal information;
  • Correct inaccuracies;
  • Delete personal information;
  • Obtain a portable copy;
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling;
  • Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; and
  • Appeal the denial of a privacy request.

These rights are not absolute. Applicable law may permit or require us to retain information for transactions, contracts, taxes, accounting, fraud prevention, security, legal claims, regulatory duties, or other permitted purposes.

To make a request, email info@highpeaksrefuge.com. Include enough information to identify your relationship with us and the right you wish to exercise. We may verify your identity before responding.

Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We may require proof of the agent’s authority and direct verification from the consumer.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right.

11. Financial-Privacy and Credit Information

High Peaks Refuge LLC is primarily a consulting, training, education, event, and digital-content business. It is not representing through this policy that it is a bank, credit union, consumer-reporting agency, lender, investment adviser, or financial institution.

We do not use connected-account information to create or furnish a consumer report. We do not use consumer-reporting information to make credit decisions unless a future service expressly requires it and all legally required notices, authorizations, contracts, and procedures have first been implemented.

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act do not automatically apply to every business merely because it accepts cards, uses Stripe, or views permissioned bank data. Any obligations depend on the actual products, activities, data, and relationships involved. No website policy alone can establish compliance with laws that require operational controls.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. Measures may include:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption;
  • Access restrictions;
  • Strong authentication and multifactor authentication where available;
  • Secure payment processing through Stripe;
  • Minimizing collection and retention;
  • Software and dependency updates;
  • Spam and bot protection;
  • Logging and monitoring;
  • Vendor-access controls; and
  • Backup and recovery procedures.

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration will never occur.

Payment-card security obligations depend on how the website and Stripe integration are configured. Using Stripe can reduce the amount of card data handled directly by us, but it does not eliminate every merchant responsibility under applicable PCI DSS requirements.

13. Data-Breach Notification

If we determine that a security incident involving personal information requires notice, we will notify affected individuals, regulators, or other parties as required by applicable law.

14. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Providing requested services;
  • Maintaining transaction and accounting records;
  • Administering events, programs, and contracts;
  • Maintaining consent and suppression records;
  • Preventing fraud and abuse;
  • Resolving disputes;
  • Enforcing agreements; and
  • Meeting legal, tax, regulatory, or insurance obligations.

Retention periods vary by information type and purpose.

An unsubscribe request does not require us to delete the minimal information necessary to maintain a suppression record and prevent future marketing.

15. Children’s Privacy

Our websites, workshops, consulting, and business services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without legally valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Purchases, contracts, and event registrations are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old or have the legal authority to act for a business.

16. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our websites may link to or embed third-party websites and services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third parties that we do not control.

17. International Visitors

Our services are operated from the United States and are primarily directed to U.S. users.

Information submitted from outside the United States may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

International visitors should not assume this policy alone satisfies every requirement of the law in their country. Additional notices or consent mechanisms may be implemented when required.

18. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Controls

Some browsers offer Do Not Track signals. Because no universally accepted standard applies to every Do Not Track signal, our website may not respond to all such signals.

Where required and technically supported, we will make reasonable efforts to recognize legally applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for the browser or device sending the signal.

19. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, vendors, services, or business practices.

The revised policy will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying a material change.
